Old Baggage by Lissa Evans – reviewed on Shiny New Books today!

Here is a link to my latest review of a truly brilliant book on Shiny New Books. Lissa Evans has written a brilliant story of suffragettes after the battles were seemingly won, only to find that there are new battles to fight in a different way.

See https://shinynewbooks.co.uk/old-baggage-by-lissa-evans/   for more about his book which makes for great reading in this anniversary year.

    1. I so enjoyed it that I really regretted finishing it (despite Evans’ tendency to be a little cruel to characters who love so much). I think that there must have been so many women who found their freedom in protest that literally didn’t know what to do with themselves in later life; the recent Worsley programme about the suffragettes had some interesting captions about what the famous women went on to do, not always positively!
